The Photography of André Van Bever

Throughout his career, André Van Bever chronicled motor racing history, from Juan Manuel Fangio in 1949 to Niki Lauda in 1975, making him one of the most renowned visual witnesses of post-war motorsport. 


His archive, comprising of almost 29,000 photographs, has now found its home at the Revs Institute, marking a significant milestone in its mission to preserve and celebrate the heritage of the automobile.


The images will be indexed and digitised, making Van Bever’s work even more accessible to researchers, scholars, and the motorsport community through the Revs Digital Library.

Revs Institute, located in Naples, Florida, USA, is recognised as one of the top automotive museums in the world. They aim to study and honour the automobile seeing it not just as an advanced machine but also as a powerful force for important social and economic change. The museum boasts a curated collection of over 100 historically important, rare, and socially significant vehicles. Additionally, Revs Institute houses an extensive archive and library featuring books, periodicals, photos, ephemera, brochures, advertisements and technical publications in multiple languages.
